Tower Poetry
Cover Art

Beautiful cover art has contributed significantly to the popular success of The Tower and, later, Tower Poetry in the past three and one-half decades.

Tower Poetry cover art beginning with Vol.54 No.1 in 2005, is being contributed by Hamilton artist Cynthia Hill. Cynthia is owner of the Blue Angel Gallery, 243 James Street North, Hamilton.

From 1990 to 2004, artist Kim Davis created our cover designs. Kim is a Dundas artist who lives at 16 Kemp Drive, Dundas ON L9H 2M9 (tel. 905-627-9575). Her work includes garden sculptures, pen and ink renderings and watercolours. Shown at the top of this page and on the TPS website home page is Kim's design for Vol.40 No.2, published in 1991, of the tower at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario for which The Tower Poetry Society is named.

Kim's lovely work graces
the cover of the special
50th Anniversary Edition of Tower Poetry, lending Vol.50 No.1 a timeless distinction. Her artwork also appears on the covers of many issues of Tower Poetry featured elsewhere on this web site.

Editor Joanna Lawson presents Kim Davis (left) with a token of the Society's appreciation for the many illustrations she has contributed to Tower Poetry covers.

In an earlier period (the late 1970's and most of the 1980's), TPS President and artist Vincent Frances designed the publication's covers:
