A LITTLE LOVE NOTE

How big is little?

Thick as clotted cream
this ‘little’ love note
maybe with dollops of O’s and X’s

Not yet sealed up
resting expectantly
on a writing desk…

Is it sweetened enough
with honeyed phrases
sugary promise…

Will its cutglass image
its sparkle of hope
reflect a lover’s message…
